Pulseback Privacy Policy
March 15, 2026
Last updated: March 15, 2026
Pulseback is an open-source local server and companion tools for managing Kodak Pulse digital picture frames. This policy covers both the Pulseback macOS application and the Pulseback Chrome extension.
The Short Version
Pulseback does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data. Everything stays on your devices.
Data Collection
We do not collect any data. Specifically:
- No personal information is collected
- No usage analytics or telemetry
- No cookies or tracking of any kind
- No data is sent to any external server
- No advertising or third-party integrations
How Pulseback Works
macOS App: Pulseback runs entirely on your local network. Photos, settings, and account information are stored in a local SQLite database on your Mac. The server communicates only with Kodak Pulse frames on your local network. No data leaves your network.
Chrome Extension: The Pulseback Chrome extension operates locally in your browser. It does not transmit any data to external servers, does not access browsing history, and does not collect any information about your browsing activity.
Data Storage
All data created by Pulseback (photos, frame settings, user accounts) is stored locally on your machine in the application’s data/ directory. You control this data entirely. Deleting the data/ directory removes all stored information.
Third-Party Services
Pulseback does not integrate with, send data to, or receive data from any third-party services, analytics platforms, or advertising networks.
DNS
Pulseback includes a local DNS proxy that intercepts requests to defunct Kodak server hostnames and redirects them to your local server. This DNS proxy runs only on your machine and only processes queries from devices you explicitly configure to use it. No DNS query data is logged, stored, or transmitted.
Open Source
Pulseback is open source. You can review the complete source code at github.com/jaygoldman/pulseback to verify these claims.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new date.
